Despite the temperature a little less clement than yesterday during official training, spectators were here for the first race of Alex Harvey! Even though the champion left with a tenth place, he was happy with his time and feels ready for tomorrow’s distance race. On the men’s side, Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo went first (1) to the podium, followed by Italy’s Federico Pellegrino in second (2) and Norway’s Sindre Bjoernestad Skar in third ( 3).
On the women’s side, the Swedes dominated the final with three podium finishes. Gold was awarded to Stina Nilsson (1), followed by silver for Maja Dahlqvist (2) and Jonna Sundling with the bronze medal (3).
With Alex Harvey‘s great performance today, we can expect a tide of spectators at the Plains of Abraham site tomorrow. From 9:15 am, the day will be marked by the mass departure of women, followed by men at 11am. Sunday will be the opportunity to see the world elite of cross-country skiing perform during the famous pursuit (from 9:30 am).
Spectators will be able to see the ascent and descent from the reservoir on the Great Plain near La Tour Martello. In addition, the entrance near the athletes’ village will offer a panoramic view of the fortifications. Finally, the finish line will be the place to see the athletes in the heat of the action!
